This public engagement event is the 27th instalment of Agora Europe – an itinerant symposium conceived by Caterina di Fazio with Nadia Urbinati and Etienne Balibar at Sorbonne University in Paris and Columbia University in New York, and continued throughout a series of initiatives in the EU and UK.
Agora Europe has recently published Charta 2020 – a document presenting a list of public goods that the subscribers contend are essential for rethinking the European political space. Solidarity is among such public goods and will be the main discussion topic in today's event.
A panel of speakers that comprises philosophers, political scientists, international lawyers, activists, and NGO officers, will share thoughts on the meaning and construction of solidarity in times of social and political turmoil. Brief talks will be followed by an open discussion with the public. Everybody is welcome to participate and speak up!
